with the FUNMAT PRO 310 NEO
In emergency medical care, every minute counts. Plasma thawing machines—used to rapidly thaw frozen plasma (FFP) for life-saving transfusions—must operate without interruption.
Tropitronics, a U.S. distributor of medical equipment, provides after-sales support for hospitals, including Microwave Plasma Defroster manufactured by Ark Bio-Medical. When several key components became worn or broke, replacements from the OEM were costly and had long lead times. Any delay meant extended equipment downtime and potential impact on patient care.
Tropitronics turned to Neometrix, INTAMSYS’s distributor in the United States, for help.
As part of a complete service workflow, Neometrix performed reverse engineering to capture the geometry of the critical parts—the plasma bag holder and retaining spring—and created precise digital models. Using the INTAMSYS FUNMAT PRO 310 NEO and ABS material, Neometrix quickly produced sample parts. These were delivered to Tropitronics for on-site installation and testing, passing validation on the first attempt and restoring the machine to full operation immediately.
Got part today and was able to test in the actual instrument. Assembled OK and worked perfectly through several cycles. Could be better than original part.
After successful testing, Neometrix used the FUNMAT PRO 310 NEO to produce 24 additional sets for inventory and ongoing maintenance. From modeling to batch delivery, the entire process took only a short time—minimizing downtime risk.
The 3D-printed replacements precisely replicated the original components’ functional features. According to the customer, the new parts not only matched the performance of the originals but even outperformed them in durability.
Delighted with this part and your fast high high-quality work.
In medical equipment maintenance, the quality and reliability of replacement parts are absolutely essential. While many 3D printers on the market can handle ABS, the INTAMSYS FUNMAT PRO 310 NEO offers a clear edge in print accuracy, part strength, and overall consistency. Its fully enclosed heated chamber and high-temperature build platform help maximize material performance during printing. As a result, the printed parts are not only dimensionally accurate and mechanically robust, but also offer longer service life—making them a great fit for critical medical applications that demand long-term reliability.
Supply Chain Resilience–On-demand, local printing reduced lead times, minimized downtime, and kept critical medical devices operational.
After thorough research and benchmarking, WEERG chose INTAMSYS as their supplier. The INTAMSYS FUNMAT PRO 410 met all their requirements with features like a heated chamber, dual heated nozzles, and a heated filament chamber.
INTAMSYS offered one single solution that got it all:
We accompany our customers in a professional manner throughout the entire project - from planning and design to the prototype or the production of a complete series. Combining our 3D printing processes with conventional component processing, post-processing and surface refinement of the prototypes, small series or even a trade fair exhibit is our daily business. Since the company was founded in 1995, our experienced team in Gross-Gerau has made a name for itself well beyond the borders of the Rhine-Main area. We are one of the leading service providers for everything to do with 3D printing and have more than satisfied customers from a wide variety of industries - from the automotive and consumer goods industries to mechanical engineering and companies from the medical technology sector.

The INTAMSYS FUNMAT PRO 410 has been a performant and reliable tool since day one. It allows us to process high-performance polymers that enable our customers to innovate with them in highly loaded, thermally challenging, and metal replacement applications. It gives us the confidence that is needed to print 24/7 unattended with long print jobs of 100+ hours. It redefines what can be achieved with FDM technology.

MATERIAL SUPERIORITY
Versatile INTAM™ Polymers
The tank holder is a new part in this year´s racing car. The part is printed on the FUNMAT PRO 610HT with the material choice of ABS. For the driverless disciplines, the team uses pressurized air to activate the brakes in an emergency. This year, they changed the concept of how pressurized air is stored, which required a new mounting solution. The tank holder is designed to solve this challenge.
Other 3D printed parts, using the FUNMAT PRO 610HT and PC material, are the flap ribs that play a crucial role in the construction of the car’s side wing. These ribs are glued into the carbon-fiber shells and incorporate threaded inserts for attaching the wing to the chassis.
While the team has used these ribs for years, they have redesigned for this season to accommodate changes in the aerodynamic shape of the wings. Using INTAMSUITE™ NEO and the 3D printing technology, they conducted topology optimization to achieve the lightest possible geometry, resulting in an organic shape that would not be possible to manufacture by milling.
By combining reverse engineering with high-performance 3D printing, Neometrix transformed part replacement from a costly, slow supply process into a fast, localized solution. With the INTAMSYS FUNMAT PRO 310 NEO at the heart of production, the team ensured stable equipment performance while boosting flexibility and resilience in the supply chain.
